  : Excellent location, easy walking distance to all major attractions. Building is older so room was a bit tired and dated but clean and comfortable. Great having coffee supplied in the room. We were given a map and info on arrival about local eateries and convenience stores etc which was super helpful. Walgreens is 2mins away and has everything you need!
  : Harrys Diner is attached to the hotel but we only ate there once, thought it was a little average.

  : Great location in the city center. One block to the metro and near many stores and restaurants. We walked to most of the sites and easily took the metro to sites that were further away. Our room was large with two queen beds and we appreciated the refrigerator. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was a good value for the location. The metro runs from the nearby station to both airports.
  : It is pretty shabby- stained carpet, cracked or missing tiles, rusty tub drain, large holes in the screens, old plumbing. However, that's why the price is much lower than other hotels in the area. The service could have been better. Our room was not serviced at all during our three day stay. When we mentioned this to the man at the front desk, he replied that they don't service rooms when the "Do not Disturb" sign is on the door. The sign was never on our door. The heat came on one night and was very hot. We were unable to control heat or a/c in the room. However, we called the front desk and they turned it off. We had to open our windows at night and there was, of course, a lot of street noise. It wasn't bad with the windows closed.

  : The location is truly the only good thing about this hotel.
  : Very, very dated hotel. I seriously dont think anything has been done to improve the property in over 50 years. Our toilet pipes sprung a leak and we had to put a waste basket below the pipes so that the bathroom wouldnt flood. The room was very small ( typical for a big city hotel) and just plain underwhelming. The wallpaper was being held together with painters tape throughout the hotel. The staff bordered on rude and obviously didnt want to be there. I can understand they because I didnt either. Spend the extra money for a nicer place and more relaxing stay.

  : Location was perfect for tourists. We were walking distance to the metro, the circulator bus, many attractions and plenty of places to eat. The bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed Harrys Bar and Grill for lunch/dinner.
  : Some of the staff could have been a bit more welcoming and attentive. Others were great. Instant coffee and a hot pot in the room. If they invest in some carafes and have fresh coffee available in the lobby, it would be more welcoming.

  : Perfect central location. Very friendly and helpful staff.

  : the best thing about this hotel is the location. very central, 10-20 minutes walk from all the sights in DC, which makes all the money (especially if you are staying for a few days and don't want to waste time on the subway). very civilized area, with many restaurants, shops, pharmacies, bank and anything you need. the hotel also has a decent restaurant with average food, very frequented by locals.
  : the hotel is very old and gives you the feeling that it has not been modernized for 100 years. the air conditioning is terrible. it couldn't be stopped so the plumber came and put duct tape on the vent. the elevators for the upper floors (6-11) were not working, so we used a service elevator located behind the restaurant. unrenovated rooms, very old bathrooms, but at least cleanliness. hotel with a history of over 100 years, but unfortunately the conditions are far below expectations.
