  : It's a beautiful historic building. The dcor is lovely. The owners and the staff are very friendly and very willing to talk about the history of the building
  : The hotel is right on the Main Street of the town and can have some traffic and noisy trucks go up-and-down the street

  : Great location near Blue Ridge Mountains. Great views, in and out of area. Sleepy mountain Town, ready to be revitalized...will become wonderful destination. Very good roads to get away from hustle and bustle.Restaurant was great surprise of choice and quality. Will return on a future trip.Charming establishment, almost a real Bed and Breakfast, but a large old building. Very friendly atmosphere.

  : This is a historical property in a great location near to Skyline Drive and to Charlottesville. The room was comfortable, with historical touches.
  : The property was DISGUSTING! The owner admitted that the wife owner had at least 30 feral cats she was feeding, and that they just had 2 litters! It was unsanitary and smelled! There were dozens of bowls of food that the owner put out for the cats outside in different places that you passed as you walked to your room that smelled and were covered in flies! There were cats everywhere, on your car, under your car, outside your door and many cats as you walked to and from your room. Definitely Not a place for anyone with allergies. I held my breath as l ran between our room and car.The owners were also very stingy about supplying the room with normal toiletries. No soap for shower, no shampoo and no conditioner thank goodness I brought my own. There was no ice machine, so you had to find the owners in the evening, as they were not alway there, for ice.

  : Overall my stay was very good. The room was as expected given historic nature of the property and period decorations and furniture. The breakfast was delicious and french toast some of best I've ever eaten. It was very quaint and quiet in a nice small town setting. Easy drive into Charlottesville. The pricing seemed high for the time of year but given lack of rooms in town for UVA graduation there was value received.
  : While the bed was comfortable the bed frame squeaked with literally every movement and took some time to acclimate. The smoke detector batteries had not been checked/replaced recently and it started chirping Sat night so I had to get on a chair around midnight to remove the detector from the wall and remove the batteries. Pretty minor inconvenience.
