Columbia River Gorge Retreat at Cave B Ridge

  : The view is tremendous. And the Cave B winery has friendly staff, delicious wine, and good food.
  : It was not clean or in good condition. Food particles were dried on various kitchen surfaces and appliances, the cushions on the dining room chairs were dirty and stained, the towel bar in the bathroom was broken, the towels were scruffy, and the bathroom vent had several months of dust on it. The only cleaning products were dish soap and water. And there were very few paper towels.

  : The Cave B location is great for hiking and checking out the stunning geological features of this unique area. The sunsets and views are second to none! By and large these are nice little homes and there are many similar units on the property. I would recommend dealing directly with an owner/landlord (Airbnb maybe) who takes pride in their property not a management company.
  : Under amenities they have checked Spa Tub which was one reason we booked this particular unit BUT there is no tub at all let alone a spa tub just a shower - which was not what we were looking for :-( Needs better cleaning protocol. Leaves, tumbleweed and debris at the entrance, cobweb and spider in the shower, 2 dead flies on floor, gunk in several kitchen drawers, dust bunnies in bedroom (cant find a way to upload photos). A big draw for these tiny houses is the floor to ceiling windows, but they need to be clean so you're not looking through a maze of handprints. This is a very small place to clean and for the $154 charge should be spotless! They state special cleaning protocols for covid but as the general overall cleaning fell short I'm pretty certain those special measures were not completed. I doubt the owner knows the actual condition as it is managed by Vacasa - ineffectively. They email that you need to verify identity or reservation will be canceled - none of the links work. I messaged letting them know this and gave a number to contact me. They never did. I finally called and they said I was already verified & didn't know why I got the email. Very confusing and the representative was a bit rude and rushed. Other than the cleanliness issue the unit itself is just fine although I would recommend there be napkins and kleenex available. There is no closet in the bedroom or hooks or anywhere to place a suitcase. We ended up moving our bags from the bed to dining table at night then back to the bed during the day. At least a hook for a bathrobe would be nice so it's not just on the concrete floor. Bathroom towel bar kept coming apart (as noted by another & clearly not fixed) leaving towels on the floor. Floor lamp switch is under stack of pillows and dog crate. Overall for the condition and this being the off season with no events due to covid this was not a good value. Sad, as with a little care this unit could be 5 stars!

  : The water pressure is not very good but I’m sure that is not the homeowners fault. Orher neighbors said the same thing about their units.

  : I liked the windows and scenery. It was a fun place to stay.
  : The linens had a very strong toxic perfumy laundry detergent smell. It was hard to rest in bed because it was SO gaseous. I took a shower immediately upon waking which didn't allow for a relaxing wake-up. It gave me headaches and I had to take a shower when I got home and I still can smell it in my hair. I don't think I can come back and stay unless they use unscented detergent.
