Hanalei Bay Resort

: Housekeeping did a nice job.
: Terrible decision to book here. Illegal practices, from broken sliding glass doors, chicken manure on our concrete porches the entire stay, no hot water, and management was “going to call me back” for four days in a row. Hidden fees on top of booking. Super long walk to the beach where their food cars coughed black fumes and gas. Super expensive and then hot tub was not working, the amount of times maintenance bothered us in our condo during a three night stay? 3 times. Discount offered off a $1900 bill for three nights? $25.I have to take this to court/ opposite of vacation give- because I wanted to cancel the first night and needed a manager to give me the okay. Instead, HBR violated Hawaiian Supreme Court rulings that decide there is a standard of care and made me anxious on what was supposed to be paradise. Terrible management is an understatement. Pool was dark and didn’t seem clean. Groups of kids were playing in thr hot tub unattended and the golf carts whizzed right by pedestrians like myself and my kids with out slowing down.

: This was a lovely stay. "Garden" room had great view over the mountains. Room was huge, bed was very comfy. Not a lot going on in the immediate area though. Very limited food options on site. Need to drive into 'town' for most things, only 10mins away. It's next door to Hotel1 with a great bar, can walk there.

: Location is wonderful, right on the bay!Staff is friendlyGolf cart rides are very helpfulThe pool is so great Views of the bay and grounds are wonderful
: Our room this time was very moldy smelling and very moist. We weren't in the room often but if we had planned on being there more, we wouldnt have been able to stay there. Our daughter was coughing all night the first night we were there and then the staff services the room to help with the moisture which helped her cough the next days.

: A timeshare that doesn’t feel too much like one (a good thing), but has hefty and inexplicable “resort and check-in” fees, and will charge you 20 USD + taxes per day for your car. Nice grounds and gardens, a beautiful view onto the Bay, and spacious rooms, although they could benefit from an upgrade out of their Reagan style (and age). Very comfortable bedding. It shares a private beach with the 5-star Hotel "1 Hanalei", where we recommend you go and have a nice sunset cocktail!
: No proper restaurant or real food options on the property: you need to drive to Hanalei.

: The location is beautiful and the rooms are very large.
: The bedrooms are not very clean. We had black specs blowing on our bed from the dirty airconditioner above it. Also food crumbs and bugs all around the bed. Also the roosters right outside the door crowing at 2am were not great. I know the roosters are a Kauai thing, but the lack of padding / noise prevention in the doors was what made it difficult. Would not get a ground floor room again.

: Disappointed that there wasn’t a breakfast option. Restaurant opening times did not suit for lunch. I

: This is a really nice property in a great location - if you like peace and quiet. They have nice facilities, from the pools to the tennis courts to the restaurants. The staff was all very pleasant and helpful. The rooms (1 bedroom) were spacious, comfortable and well enough appointed. They will even provide a cart ride down to the beach, if you want. The beach is small, but nice.
: Most of the units don't have ocean views, and those that do, I was told, are generally reserved for the timeshare owners. Well, we enjoyed our jungle and mountain view just fine. The charges for parking, resort fee and checking-in (really?) are simply irritating. Their hand was in our pocket enough as it was...

: Location, room, beach, pool, restaurant.
: We were locked out of our room every day. The keys were disconnected. Had to go to the office to have them reset each day.
