Holiday Inn Express and Suites Oro Valley an IHG Hotel

Good

: Breakfast was good but typical motel fare. Eggs and sausage were okay, cinnamon rolls were superb, biscuits great and real honey was a plus. Good coffee. Save the motel money and drop the turkey sausage option, I saw no one touch it but they ate the pork sausage. Rooms were clean, and this was a very quiet motel at night.
: We always eat a banana but there were no bananas, which I questioned as they are the cheapest nutritional food item in the world today. Girl told me just a bit snarky; "Well we have bananas but they are green". I said, "how green", so she reluctantly showed me. They were somewhat green but tasted just fine. Should have put them out or made the one block trip for "yellow" bananas at Bashas. Also, the first milk my wife opened was curdled. So looked and was out of date on the carton. No upset, but should have been pulled prior because of the expiration date. We said nothing but then "fresh" milk was brought out from storage and placed in the counter fridge. Possibly the WORST thing about the stay was the room key readers which never seem to work like they should. Had to make a trip to the front desk to have one rebooted, then the other one worked! But in the motel's defense this is pretty much the way it is with every frustrating electronic "key".

: Great location. Nice staff. Comfortable.
: Breakfast. The scrambled eggs were awful. Hot food was luke warm. My carton of milk was going sour.

Disappointing

: Location was great with mountain views.
: Bed was old(2013') according to mattress certificate and I have not been to a Holiday Inn Express where the mattress was not updated and comfortable. Toilets were old and not high rise. Breakfast was subpar. Gravy was so watered down it was like soup. No waffle maker which appears to be the norm for Holuday Inn Express. Staff said beds are scheduled to be replaced next summer.
