Traveller Type: solo traveller
: The location was good, but I had the worst ever overall experience here. I was traveling alone, a woman, but that was supposed to be OK because I had made a reservation ahead of time. When I came in, the (male) receptionist charged my card. Only then I discovered he charged an extra "card fee" to me as well. When I said he should have informed me of the fee before charging it, he started making fun of me - that what for him allegedly was a small charge mattered to me. When I explained why it mattered to me - given my budget, and I noted that I could have paid by cash had I known he would charge me an extra fee for payment by card, the receptionist began acting in an agressive way. He grabbed from my hand the room key he had already given me in the meantime, and he said he cancelled my reservation. Therefore, I had to leave, he said. It was close to midnight by that time, and I was stranded in a strange town, and in a foreign country to boot, due to his bad mood (or whatever was receptionist's problem). I called Booking, which helped me find alternative accommodation, and to which I made full report of what the he AmericInn Motel receptionist did. However, Booking then let me know that the accommodation representative lied to them outrageously, saying they never charged my card. Which is why I provided them with a copy of the receipt the receptionist gave me after charging my card - as a definite proof to the contrary to start with. They also outrageosly lied to Booking in other ways, saying that I was a male, that I yelled at other guests, and that I demanded to pay by cash - although there can be no doubt that I am a female, no guests were anywhere around (and I never yelled at anyone)... and which vendor would ever not accept cash?!?
