  : The hotel location was near friends we were visiting.
  : First impression was the place was under construction and a mess. We'd been riding a motorcycle all day and relaxing in the pool was half the reason we booked the room but we arrived to find the pool empty. First, I never saw any mention of the construction or the empty pool on the listing in Booking.com. Second, I could deal with issues from the construction if other areas were attended to, but the elevator walls were covered with greasy prints and liquid stains that ran down the walls and finger prints all over the area where breakfast was to be served. Twice I tripped over tools scattered in the hallway (on memorial day weekend when nobody was working). The lack of attention to things that could be taken care of left us very uneasy about the bed coverings, the towels, bare feet on the carpet and especially whether we wanted to eat or drink anything prepared in this hotel, so we didn't. We travel on our bike all the time and we have stayed in places that many probably wouldn't, and still enjoyed it. Mom and Pop places that were old and in need of updates, but they were clean and taken care of and the people were kind and friendly. Cabins (multiple times) where insects scrambled under furniture when the light was turned on. We just thought, "it´s a cabin... in the woods". We aren't looking for anything unreasonable, but all I could think about was what the blue UV CSI light would show if we had one. We should have been informed about the construction and been able to weigh that into our decision to stay. The fact that it wasn't seems intentionally deceptive to me and we won´t be going back. The room total was $156.80. The stay was more on par for what I expect from a room priced at $69.95 and if it had been I probably wouldn't stay there a second time but at least I wouldn't feel taken advantage of.

  : The room was not cleaned upon arrival well after checkout time, it was hastily ‘cleaned’ in under 10 minutes. No vacuuming or mopping of bathroom floor. Etc. Rehabbing going on elsewhere. Grounds need trash picked up and lawns mowed. I hope new owners improve the overall establishment before too long.

  : Staff was friendly and very helpful. There were a few issues upon arrival but the staff helped make the situation a little better.
  : There was no clear indicator on the website that the pool was closed due to renovations. There were a few guests that I spoke with that was also unaware that the pool was not open. I booked this hotel for the pool. My kids were looking forward to swimming and was very upset for the rest of the trip. Additional money was spent to take the kids swimming which was not in the budget.
