  : Location good despite being out of the city centre, with easy access to U Chicago and buses to central Chicago.
  : Not properly cleaned (bits on floor, dirty duvet cover etc.), not properly maintained (e.g. paint peeling off bath and tiles), not as described (no washing machine) and entry instructions incorrect (and only available 48 hours ahead even though requested earlier). No point in contacting Booking.com as they simply pass emails to owner (Zencity), who although they reply politely and promptly don't really answer anything properly until chased again (responses coming from different people each time, who don't seem to read previous emails). Regretfully this apartment does not reflect well on Zencity or Booking.com.

  : I must issue strong warnings regarding Zen Rentals. DO NOT rent from them or do business with them. They just concluded their review of my request that they refund my two-night stay due to their horrifying and legally fraudulent service. They refunded one night of two after 11 messages. I requested both nights refund repeatedly and was many times put off saying it was in progress. The situation was as follows:••Zen City from the start did not give correct, appropriate written or verbal instructions to get into the building or apartment at all. Staff (multiple) asked the guest to make many wild goose chases into different hallways and exits.they blamed it on the guest several times. When their call was (intentionally? Accidentally?) disconnected a few times w no call back the guest was left stranded on the street. Staff (multiple) did not say or know how to enter the code or how to operate the lock, which was not apparent to guest, who has operated locks in many such rental situations.•• they gave us the wrong entry ADDRESS, the wrong BUILDING and as above, they provided no information on how to enter the code and where the lock was which was not apparent. Zen City accused the guest of being at fault. 3.5 hours after arrival !!! at address given by Zen City with phone calls, stress, pleas, and waiting outside one staff finally realized the fault was theirs and said so clearly and found a way to help them enter. As a result guest missed the event for the visit that evening. Cockroaches were in the hallway••all of this was in the middle of a pandemic with the guest left standing on the street with bags in an unfamiliar residential neighborhood. Guest’s phone after 3.5 hours lost power and guest had to seek a plug in, taking bags with her.-by the time the guest was able to enter the apartment with baggage the event has begun and she missed many important aspects of the event, meetings, and was exhausted. I am owed two days refund and they have not done so.
